well... i realised that if i didnt blog bout the trip, my mind wouldnt be at rest... so here goes... i'll try my best to recall every detail as far as possible...
on the day before the trip.. juz hours before the next day... i had trouble getting myself to sleep... to catch a few winks... could it be the sheer excitement? or juz that im still troubled over some trivial stuff? i dunno... anw.. it took my quite a while before i could persude myself to sleep.. i din have much of a time to sleep anw... woke up the next day, which is apparently a few hours' of sleep away, and i did last minute preparations.. double-checking to make sure i had everything i needed... then i went on the give morning sms-es to my logistics ppl.. lol.. haha.. some were actually at the airport alr... lol... i rmb messaging my puppet ppl early that morning to ensure everything was taken care of... yea... side track.. really glad to have known new ppl in the puppet team... of which i wouldnt have had got the chance to noe wad hui qi's hse would look like... ok.. back to wad i was saying... i went to freshen myself up only to realise that my toothbrush and toothpaste were in the suitcase.. after which.. i left the hse with my parents for changi airport... somehow or rather... i seem to like the tranquil of the wee hours of the day... when everyone's deep in dreamland... the peace... haha.. loaded the suitcase into the boot of the car and off we went... i juz love to go to changi airport esp. in the wee hours of the day... i juz feel that all my heavy burdens have been lifted the moment i step into the airport... yea... anw... travelling to changi airport in the wee hours of the morning kinda reminds me of the thailand trip i went last yr with my NPCC ppl.. it was really very fun too.. very "memorable" too... lol.. anw.. during the journey to changi airport.. i wasnt sure if i was happy or sad... lol.. mixed feelings i guess... upon arrival at the airport... i told my dad to stop for me to take a pic of the control tower.. when it had a nite time background... yea.. however.. we had trouble trying to get a good spot cos apparently of the incoming vehicles on the road... yea.. den we continued to the airport's carpark where the no. of cars were scarce... tink i came across dorcia's mom's car in the carpark... yea.. the white bmw... anw.. i then had a clear view of the control tower at the carpark but this time.. i had trouble getting a clear shot cos i couldnt use flash and thus it was slightly more difficult to get a clear shot.. anw.. after several attempts.. i juz made do with the best shot i took and went to join my parents who were waiting at the car for me to enter changi airport.. i rmb stepping into changi airport with cheers on my left and further down on my right was the board displaying the status of flights in changi airport (CA)... i oso rmb seeing C.J. and her parents but i din go up to say hi tho.. lol.. anw.. they were in front of my parents and i... took the travellator up to the next level which was the arrival hall.. somehow that's the level i nv want to be in... i hate coming back from overseas holidays... anw.. cos i was carrying my shoe bag, my dad suggested i stuffed it in the suitcase so that i had lesser stuff to carry.. so we stopped by the chairs and did likewise... by that time... C.J. and her parents were way ahead alr.. we ascended to the next level which was the level for departures... i was amazed at the huge and massive crowd at the meeting point... most of the ocip participants were alr present including the teachers... friends came to say their good-byes and all.. yea.. i stood around with my parents for awhile whilst the airport formalities were carried out... met up with MK, nic and george, who came to see us off too.. my parents took a few shots of me and my gang whilst waiting... stood around somemore and juz observed wad was going on... wanted to take a pic of the huge display board in CA but somehow i wasnt so enthu yet.. lol... mrs ting handed me the cassette player for me to look after.. thats part of logistics so i have no reason to complain... anw.. mrs ting is really a very nice lady... she never raised her volume before.. except for the time she had to make announcements... it has really been a privilege to work with her prior to the trip... if only she could be my econs teacher... den maybe my econs grades wouldnt be that bad... lol... my gang and i proceeded with the airport formalities and not that im biased to say this but Singapore's airport staff is much more efficient compared to Cambodia's... ok.. by that time my parents had alr left the scene as they had work a few hours later... we then headed to the place only people with the boarding pass were allowed in... wad separates us and the rest is a glass wall... we went thru the next round of formalities and we were free to roam around for some time... its really cool cos there were not many ppl around... yea.. i hung out with my class ppl and we were to 7-11 to grab some mineral water... and i had to carry the 1.5L bottles thanks to my bag having side pockets.. lol.. anw.. gd trng... lol.. we met some of the ocip ppl at delifrance having their breakfast... but we din join them tho... we carried on to the gate assigned to us.. C19... apparently thats the furthest gate which was to the far end of the airport.. taking the travellators helped abit... tho there was quite a no. of travellators to hop on... lol.. we finally reached gate C19 and i din noe that CA actually provided osim big foot for passengers to use.. lol.. wanted to try but somehow the machine was screwed up.. so.. yea.. sat around.. and i tink i zee, shaun and a few others were oso with us... not long after... we entered the waiting room but before that we had to have our stuff scanned.. yea.. all went well.. no one got held up.. so we waited for quite some time at the waiting hall before we could board the plane... the plane was in full view of those sitted in the waiting hall.. anw.. after much waiting..we finally boarded the plane.. but in groups... according to the range of seat rows... i rmb being the last few to board cos of my seat no... yea... took the complimentary newspaper... i was fortunate enuff to be given the window seat.. haha.. to my right were MK and jazreel.. nic was sitting in the same row as us but on the right side of the plane.. so he was accompanied by two senior citizens who seemed to have a good time chatting with nic.. haha.. it was still dark outside... after everyone had boarded the plane.. it took off soon after... the rapid pace at which the plane was travelling was simply so thrilling.. haha.. and as usual u have to pop ur ears cos of the change in pressure... during the flight.. MK shared with me his mp3 player.. and i took some nice shots of the scenary outside.. which is the sky... the sky soon turned bright and i was unfortunate enuff not to be able to see the sunrise.. wad a pity.. nevertheless i juz made the most outta wad i had.. cambodia was 1 hr behind S'pore's time.. so we technically gained 1 hr of our life.. lol.. ok lame.. anw.. the sky would turn bright earlier and turn dark earlier too... took some pics of the scenary below when we were approaching siem reap int'l airport.. total difference from Singapore... the attap houses.. the vast green pastures.. everything... we soon landed and we had to walk down this staircase which was unlike Singapore's.. was really cool cos u get to see the plane so close to u.. haha.. JetStarAsia.. lol.. we then proceeded with cambodia's airport formalities and we went to collect our luggages.. we waited for everybody to collect their stuff before we proceeded out of the airport.. there waiting for us was a bus that seemed too small to fit us all and our stuff.. we had difficulty trying to pack everything into one bus... after much contemplation.. we finally got on the bus and some of our stuff were loaded into the bus as well.. the rest would be transported by another bus.. we left for cozyna hotel in siem reap for our breakfast... it was a short ride... breakfast was served buffet style.. ya.. so after breakfast we continued on our journey to battambang... this time it was a 5 hrs ride... along the way.. there happened to be a jam which held many ppl up.. apparently the sole bridge had been damaged and "engineers" were working on it.. took a long while b4 it was finally fixed.. i got off the bus to get a breather... tgt with some of them... the air outside was so much cooler and i could stretch finally.. some ppl went to search for conducive places to relief themselves.. haha.. amongst the dense forestation that is.. the scenary was nice... but the heavy jam wasnt... after the bridge had been fixed.. we carried on to victoria hotel battambang(LOL).. the roads never fail to make the rides bumpy... but it was fun tho... upon arrival at the airport... we were warmly greeted and welcomed by the people.. we were handed each a scented flower and the teachers were given a garland around their neck.. we sorted out the room numbers and brought our lugguages up to our rooms.. my room was 308 and my roommate was sadiq.. that was the hotel we were going to stay in for a long period of time.. after lunch, we then had to attend an opening ceremony by the AS ppl at some place which had a swimming pool, gym, playground and a huge arc-shaped structure.. lol.. then dinner was provided.. at first we werent used to the many flies that seemed to bug us.. but we got used to it soon after.. steamboat is an always at all meals except breakfast... after dinner we took photos of the place and after which we headed back to the hotel.. we had two buses as our transportation... these buses were the ones bringing us to everywhere we went.. then there was a meeting at the foyer and preparation for those groups that had teaching the next day... as my group, group C, didnt have teaching the next day.. we didnt have to meet to discuss anything.. MK and nic were bunking tgt and they were my neighbours.. 307 in battambong and 407 in siem reap.. btw.. my room no. was 408 in siem reap cozyna hotel.. cool rite.. 308 and 408.. it was then off to bed and the next day awaited us...
